wish about the present

Form:
1. wish / if only + simple past/could/would is used to eoress our wishes, regrets and hopes we regret past actions or we hope change in the future.
wish about the present is done only if the sentence is the present 

• I don't have a car .

I wish I had a car .

• I don't speak chinnese

if only I could speak chinnese

wish about the future
form:
wish / if only +past continous/would/could is used to show ones hope or a situation will change in immediatly or in the future .
ex: 

• The regime is not changing .

I wish the regime were changing

• They are sorry that their bosse won't give them a holiday

If only their boss would give thema holiday

wish about the past
form:
wish / if only + past perfect/could have+past participle is used to show ones sorry about pastactions and circumstances
ex:

• I did not know much about how to prevent computer veruses.

- I wish I had known how to prevent computer veruses
